Eroglu Global Holding, a Turkish industrial conglomerate known for operations in textiles, retail, real estate, and energy, signed an agreement to establish a new packaging plant in Egypt's Qantara West Industrial Zone. The deal was finalized on Tuesday by Nurettin Eroglu, Chairman of the Turkish conglomerate, and Waleed Gamal El-Dien, Chairman of SCZONE. This $175 million investment represents the company's entry into the packaging sector and its fourth industrial project in the zone. The facility will span 70,000 square meters and generate 2,000 direct jobs. The plant will produce Tetra Pak units, carton boxes, and carton sheets, targeting a daily output of 10 million sterile 1-liter cartons and 75,000 cardboard boxes, alongside 400 metric tons of carton sheets annually. Half of production will target exports, with the rest serving Egypt to reduce imports and strengthen the food supply chain. SCZONE Chairman Gamal El-Dien highlighted the project's strategic role in supporting food industry supply chains, integrating local production, and cutting import dependency. Founded in 1983, Eroglu has expanded in Egypt through textiles, now becoming the largest investor in Qantara West with prior textile facilities operational and a knitting plant under construction. The zone currently hosts 52 projects over 3,537,100 square meters, drawing $1.531 billion in investments and 72,665 jobs.
