AFRY has successfully completed a comprehensive Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety (EHS) and operational processes audit for the cardboard manufacturer AB Grigeo Klaipėda in Lithuania. The audit aimed to evaluate environmental performance, workplace safety standards, and the efficiency of operational processes at the client’s production facility.
The assessment was designed to support the client in identifying opportunities to improve sustainability, strengthen safety practices, and optimize plant operations. AFRY’s multidisciplinary team conducted a detailed review of technical processes, environmental impact, and management practices to ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
As part of the engagement, AFRY carried out a series of technical diagnostics and evaluations across multiple operational areas. The audit included an assessment of production processes, environmental management systems, occupational health and safety procedures, and operational management practices. Additional analysis focused on wastewater treatment and discharge systems, identification of potential sources of odor, air, and noise emissions, and a review of risk assessment procedures within the facility.
Based on the findings, AFRY provided a set of targeted recommendations and an actionable improvement roadmap aimed at enhancing environmental performance, strengthening safety protocols, and increasing operational efficiency. The recommendations are intended to help the client implement sustainable improvements while maintaining high operational standards.
“This audit provides a structured approach to identifying improvement opportunities across environmental, safety, and operational areas,” said a representative from AFRY. “By combining technical expertise with industry insights, AFRY supports clients in advancing sustainability and ensuring safe, efficient operations.”
The project reinforces AFRY’s expertise in providing advisory and engineering services to the pulp and paper industry, helping manufacturers address environmental challenges, improve workplace safety, and optimize production processes.
