Akarton GmbH Invests in New Corrugated Packaging Production Site in Schüttorf

Akarton GmbH is investing in a new production site in Schüttorf, Germany, to expand its production capacity for corrugated board packaging and support further growth.

The project includes construction of a modern production facility for corrugated board packaging. Alongside the core investment, Akarton plans targeted measures to improve energy efficiency and investments in renewable energy generation.

The new site will also create permanent jobs and apprenticeships in Schüttorf.

The investment is supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the “Niedersachsen Invest” funding programme. According to Akarton, the project has total eligible expenditure of €10.57 million, with funding of up to €1.84 million approved.

Akarton said the project represents an important step in the further development of the company and its production site in Schüttorf.

The project is co-financed by the European Union and the State of Lower Saxony.
