ANDRITZ has successfully started up a new biological sludge drying plant at Eldorado Brasil Celulose’s pulp mill, processing up to 22 tons of dry solids per day from wastewater treatment to convert waste into boiler fuel. The facility features ANDRITZ’s largest Gouda paddle dryer (type 17W300), dewatering centrifuges, aspiration systems, dry product handling, exhaust gas condensation and full engineering support, reducing landfill waste while boosting energy efficiency and environmental performance. This installation aligns with Eldorado’s waste-to-energy strategy, minimizing operational costs and emissions through high-safety, low-maintenance technology that integrates seamlessly into mill processes. Luiz Paulo, ANDRITZ Senior Technical and Commercial Manager, emphasized the project’s role in delivering customized sustainability solutions for the pulp sector, reinforcing ANDRITZ’s position as a key supplier to Eldorado. The global technology group, with 30,000 employees across pulp, paper, hydropower and environmental solutions, continues advancing decarbonization and circular economy initiatives.
