ANDRITZ AG has introduced a new range of modular small-scale spray dryers aimed at bridging the gap between laboratory trials and full industrial production.
The newly launched ANDRITZ Dedert portfolio includes six models with water evaporation capacities ranging from 5 to 250 kg per hour. The systems are designed to support product development, process optimization, pilot-scale trials, and limited batch production across industries such as food, dairy, nutraceuticals, and chemicals.
The spray dryers are available in both single-stage and multi-stage configurations, with options to integrate fluid bed technology to improve powder characteristics and energy efficiency. Each unit features a skid-mounted, plug-and-play design intended to reduce installation time while maintaining compliance with international fire protection, safety, and hygienic manufacturing standards.
According to the company, the modular systems are designed to replicate industrial conditions on a smaller scale, enabling operators to validate formulations, test process parameters, and generate reliable scale-up data without occupying full-scale production lines. This flexibility is expected to help manufacturers respond more efficiently to frequent product changes and shorter development cycles.
“Our objective is to provide a clear pathway from pilot trial to validated operational conditions,” said Suresh Sundararaj. “These systems support data-driven decisions by combining modular configurations with proven standards in safety and hygiene.”
ANDRITZ stated that the new range is intended to reduce development timelines, improve process predictability, and ensure consistent powder quality during scale-up.
