APP Group Highlights Methane Capture Initiative at Indah Kiat Serang Mill

APP Group has highlighted the use of methane capture technology at PT Indah Kiat Serang Pulp & Paper's Serang Mill as part of its efforts to improve operational efficiency and reduce carbon emissions.

According to the company, the Serang facility captures methane generated during the wastewater treatment process and converts the resulting biogas into an alternative energy source. The initiative is intended to reduce reliance on fossil fuels while supporting lower-carbon mill operations.

APP Group said the methane capture system enables the utilization of biogas that would otherwise be released during wastewater treatment, contributing to more efficient energy use within the mill.

The company presented the initiative in the latest edition of its "APPedia" series, which explains operational practices and technologies implemented across its facilities.
