APRIL Reports Strong Sustainability and Business Performance in 2025, Producing Over 4 Million Tonnes of Pulp While Advancing APRIL2030 Commitments

APRIL Group has released its 2025 Sustainability Report, Strengthening Impact, highlighting significant progress across its climate, conservation, social and operational priorities while continuing to expand its position as one of the world's leading integrated pulp and paper producers.

The report marks the midpoint of APRIL2030 and the 10-year anniversary of the company's Sustainable Forest Management Policy (SFMP) 2.0, demonstrating how responsible forestry, manufacturing excellence and sustainability investments are supporting long-term business growth and resilience.

Strong Growth Across Integrated Pulp and Paper Operations

In 2025, APRIL's integrated manufacturing complex in Pangkalan Kerinci produced:

• 4.05 million tonnes of pulp, an increase from 3.92 million tonnes in 2024

• 1.17 million tonnes of paper products

• 663,000 tonnes of paperboard products

• 325,000 tonnes of viscose staple fibre (VSF)

• Total production exceeding 6.2 million tonnes across major product categories

APRIL supplied customers in 119 countries, reinforcing its position as a global supplier of bio-based fibre products serving printing, packaging, tissue, hygiene, textile and specialty applications. The company's integrated value chain processed more than 15.5 million tonnes of wood fibre sourced from APRIL plantations, supply partners, community forests and open-market suppliers.

Sustainable Forestry Driving Fibre Security

APRIL's sustainable forest management model continues to provide a reliable, renewable fibre supply while supporting conservation at scale.

As of December 2025, APRIL managed 1.43 million hectares across Sumatra and Kalimantan, including:

• 618,133 hectares of commercial plantation forests

• 470,723 hectares of conservation areas

• 34,847 hectares of community fibre plantations

The company achieved 76% of its 1-for-1 conservation commitment, under which one hectare of conservation forest is protected for every hectare of plantation managed. Approximately 70% of APRIL's conservation area consists of tropical peatland ecosystems, among the most important carbon-rich landscapes in Southeast Asia.

Plantation productivity continued to improve, with Mean Annual Increment (MAI) in Sumatra increasing 13.8% above the 2019 baseline, enabling APRIL to grow fibre supply and support rising production volumes without expanding into natural forests.

Manufacturing Efficiency and Climate Progress

APRIL continued investing in manufacturing efficiency and renewable energy infrastructure to support both competitiveness and decarbonisation.

Highlights include:

• 82.2% of mill energy demand supplied by renewable and cleaner energy sources

• 39.4 MWp of installed solar generation capacity

• 6.0% reduction in mill energy intensity since 2023

• 97.7% soda recovery rate, reflecting high levels of resource efficiency

• 0.8% reduction in water consumption intensity despite increased production volumes

The company also reduced land-use emissions to 3.0 million tonnes CO₂e, down from 4.8 million tonnes CO₂e in 2019, reflecting continued progress in peatland management and landscape conservation.

Investing in Nature and Communities

During 2025, APRIL invested a record US$14.8 million in conservation initiatives, bringing total conservation investment since 2020 to US$75 million.

The company also launched its Thriving Nature Strategy and announced a five-year scientific collaboration with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to strengthen biodiversity monitoring, peatland science and landscape conservation outcomes.

Community programmes delivered measurable social impact through poverty alleviation, healthcare and gender inclusion initiatives, including support for 445 households in 77 villages and interventions across 114 villages to reduce childhood stunting in Riau Province.
