US-based Avery Dennison has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, to launch a Management Development Programme for mid-level packaging professionals. The agreement, formalized at IIP's Mumbai campus, was executed by R K Mishra, director of IIP and additional director general of foreign trade, Mumbai, and Saurabh Agrawal, vice-president and general manager of Avery Dennison South Asia. This collaboration introduces a three-day intensive course targeting professionals across diverse segments including food and beverages, home and personal care, wine and spirits, pharmaceuticals, lubricants, agrochemicals, solar, batteries, automobiles, and appliances. The inaugural cohort, capped at 20 participants, begins in March 2026, blending classroom sessions at IIP Mumbai with practical exposure at Avery Dennison's Pune facility, led by senior practitioners, academics, and thought leaders. The programme emphasizes critical themes like AI integration, sustainability practices, regulatory compliance, and evolving consumer preferences to prepare mid-career experts for leadership roles in the dynamic packaging sector.
