Bracell has begun operating two 100% electric 74-tonne trucks on wood and pulp transport routes in the interior of São Paulo, marking a historic step in decarbonising logistics in Brazil’s pulp sector. The company invested around R$3.5 million in the pilot, which is integrated into the Bracell Agenda 2030 and focuses on cutting emissions while maintaining large-scale transport efficiency. The high-capacity trucks, authorised under a special transit permit (AET), have autonomy of up to 250 km per charge, with fast recharging infrastructure installed at the Lençóis Paulista mill. Results from the operation will be monitored to assess environmental, operational and economic gains, with potential fleet expansion in future cycles. The project builds on Bracell’s earlier electric truck tests and reinforces its strategy of combining innovation, safety and sustainability across its integrated logistics chain.
