Century Sunshine Plans 500,000-Ton Bleached Chemical Pulp Line in Shouguang

Sunshine Paper Industry released its first environmental impact assessment announcement on February 11 for Shandong Shenghua Biorefining Technology Co., Ltd.'s 500,000-ton-per-year bleached chemical pulp project. The site sits in Chenming Industrial Park, Shouguang City, west of Wenchang Road and north of Panqu Street.​

This new construction includes a raw material yard, preparation area, auxiliary facilities, and one production line with advanced digester, washing machine, alkali furnace, plus a 55MW extraction-back steam turbine generator set (65MW generator) for waste heat/power use. Post-commissioning, it produces 500,000 tons bleached sulfate hardwood pulp yearly, generates 440 million kWh electricity (internal), uses low/medium-pressure steam onsite, and sells surplus externally.​

Total investment reaches 3.19028 billion yuan, with environmental protection at about 10%. Chenming Paper nearby runs a 1 million-ton bleached hardwood pulp project and prepares a 300,000-ton bleached softwood line, setting up potential raw material ties across the road.
