Century Sunshine Unit Announces EIA for 500,000-Tonne Bleached Chemical Pulp Project in Shandong

Shouguang, China – Shandong Shenghua Biorefining Technology Co., Ltd. has released an environmental impact assessment (EIA) announcement for a planned bleached chemical pulp project with a capacity of 500,000 tonnes per year in Shouguang City, Shandong Province.
The project, classified as new construction, will be located within Chenming Industrial Park and occupy a total land area of approximately 517 mu (around 344,460 square metres). The legal representative of the company is Li Jinhai.
According to the announcement, the facility will include a full production line for bleached sulfate hardwood pulp, with a designed output of 1,471 air-dried tonnes per day. Planned infrastructure includes a raw material storage yard, material preparation section, pulping workshop, alkali recovery unit, chlorine dioxide preparation system, steam turbine generator set, oxygen production station, wastewater treatment plant, and substation.
Total investment in the project is estimated at CNY 3.19 billion, of which CNY 2.81 billion is allocated for construction and CNY 290 million for working capital. Environmental protection investment is projected at approximately CNY 319 million, representing about 10% of the total project cost.
The construction period is expected to span 30 months.
The EIA announcement forms part of the regulatory approval process for the project, which is associated with Century Sunshine’s expansion in the pulp sector.
