ChelnyUpak has expanded production capacity at its facility in Klin, Moscow Region, following the completion of a modernization project that enables the manufacture of seven-layer corrugated cardboard.

Installation, commissioning, and production testing of a Fosber Asia equipment package were completed at the site, with the project implemented by Gofromashiny Premium LLC as part of an upgrade to the plant’s existing corrugating machine.

The modernization marks a technological expansion for the company’s Moscow-region subsidiary, which previously produced only three- and five-layer corrugated packaging. The newly installed capacity allows the facility to manufacture higher-margin seven-layer corrugated cardboard products.

According to the company, the upgrade included the installation of a ProFacer corrugating press equipped with B- and C-profile cassettes, two reel sets with LINK splicers, and units designed to modernize the multi-tier heater and glue spreader systems. The production line was also fitted with a three-tier device from E&L for tensioning and alignment of double-layer corrugated cardboard.

ChelnyUpak said the expansion is expected to improve logistics and strengthen its presence in Russia’s Central Federal District. Previously, seven-layer corrugated cardboard supplied to customers in central Russia was shipped from the company’s main production site in Tatarstan.

With the new production capabilities in Klin, the company will now be able to supply customers in the region directly from the Moscow-area facility.
