Cheng Loong Corp. transforms innovation into a company-wide movement through institutionalized improvement mechanisms that empower employees to propose bottom-up ideas, fostering a culture of continuous enhancement across processes, quality, and energy efficiency. The annual "Excellent Case Evaluation" concluded in late November 2025, yielding 50 superior proposals that generated NT$146 million in benefits for the year, with cumulative gains exceeding NT$1.25 billion over the past five years (2021–2025). Notably, 19 cases earned awards from the China Total Productive Maintenance Association (CTPM) on December 19, including a top "Special Excellent" from Zhubei Plant's tissue production line optimization, slashing defects by 78% via low-cost mechanical tweaks like added rollers and O-rings, saving NT$5.3 million monthly. Houli Plant's big data-driven predictive maintenance for packaging machines, using Power BI for fault detection, secured "Excellent" status, with plans for IoT and AI expansion. Purchasing Department's AI-powered supplier search system, built by a non-IT staffer with ChatGPT, boosted efficiency 45-fold at near-zero cost. Since 1980, Cheng Loong has collected over 1,000 proposals yearly, now integrating "Smart Paper 4.0" and "AI Application Year" initiatives via academies and competitions to drive low-carbon digital operations.
