CMPC Reports US$33.5 million net Profit for First Half of 2026

Empresas CMPC S.A. reported consolidated revenue of US$3.733 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, broadly unchanged from US$3.720 billion in the same period of 2025. Net profit fell to US$33.5 million from US$130.7 million a year earlier.
Operating profit declined to US$112.4 million from US$200.3 million, while gross profit decreased to US$691.2 million from US$745.6 million. Finance costs increased to US$185.4 million from US$162.5 million, and foreign currency exchange differences resulted in a loss of US$12.7 million, compared with a gain of US$19.0 million in the first half of 2025. An income tax benefit of US$38.2 million partly offset these effects.
Adjusted EBITDA was US$525.0 million, compared with US$609.8 million in the prior-year period. By operating segment, adjusted EBITDA was US$334.6 million for Pulp, US$38.3 million for Biopackaging and US$198.7 million for Softys. Segment revenue was US$1.629 billion for Pulp, US$512.7 million for Biopackaging and US$1.729 billion for Softys.
CMPC generated US$565.0 million in net operating cash flow during the first half, compared with US$541.9 million in 2025. Capital expenditure on property, plant and equipment was US$224.5 million, while additions to other non-current assets totaled US$130.7 million.
The company had approximately US$855.0 million in future investment commitments at June 30, 2026. The projects include forests, continuity, expansion, profitability, information technology, environmental initiatives, occupational health and safety, and research and development, with projected spending extending over up to five years. The company said the commitments include projects intended to increase industrial production capacity and maintain or improve environmental performance.
CMPC reported total assets of US$20.84 billion at June 30, 2026, compared with US$20.58 billion at December 31, 2025. The group had 26,544 employees across its operations at the end of June.
