CO280 Solutions Inc., a Vancouver-based developer of carbon dioxide removal projects, earned a spot on Cleantech Group's 2026 Global Cleantech 100 list. This 17th edition, compiled with input from over 75 investors, corporates, and experts, highlights firms delivering market-ready climate solutions. CO280 retrofits pulp and paper mills with modular carbon capture units to capture and store biogenic CO2 via bioenergy with carbon capture and storage, creating high-quality, scalable CDR while boosting mill profitability and rural forestry jobs. In 2025 review highlights: over 4.3 million tonnes of CDR contracted, ranking among top five global suppliers per cdr.fyi; more than 10 projects in development potentially yielding 7 million tonnes annually from North American mills producing over 100 million tonnes biogenic CO2 yearly; four projects advanced to Pre-FEED and FEED stages targeting FID 2026-2028 in U.S. Gulf Coast and Canada for voluntary market credits. A field pilot with SLB Capturi validated liquid amine capture efficiency on pulp mill biogenic CO2, meeting all KPIs for commercial readiness. The team doubled in size across key functions to support scaling. "Retrofitting mills delivers durable CDR and transforms pulp and paper economics, with billions in potential investment securing forestry jobs," said Jonathan Rhone, Co-Founder and CEO. Cleantech Group CEO Richard Youngman noted the list reflects resilient innovation amid market shifts; Research Manager Anthony DeOrsey emphasized durability focus. CO280 invites attendance at 2026 Cleantech Forum North America.
