Coastal Container announced the acquisition of the former Howard Miller Clock manufacturing facility in Zeeland, Michigan, expanding its operational footprint and increasing production capacity.

The 380,000-square-foot facility, which will operate as Coastal Container and Packaging, will house the company’s secondary operations, assembly, warehousing, and its expanding packaging supply division. According to the company, the site is intended to provide additional capacity while supporting future growth and expansion.

Alongside the acquisition, Coastal Container said its primary manufacturing facility at 1201 Industrial Avenue in Holland is undergoing significant upgrades. The investment includes the installation of new high-speed, highly automated equipment designed to optimize single-pass production, improve manufacturing efficiency, enhance product quality, and strengthen customer service.

“We are excited to invest in Zeeland, expand our operations, and continue building a world-class independent company, with an outstanding team leading the way,” owner Brent Patterson said. “Our goal is to set a new standard for box quality and manufacturing efficiency while reducing costs for our customers. This new facility gives us the flexibility and capacity to support that vision for many years to come.”

The company said the acquisition strengthens its ability to serve customers by increasing operational capacity and supporting long-term expansion plans. It added that the investment reflects its ongoing focus on expanding manufacturing capabilities and improving operational efficiency while supporting continued growth across its business.
