Cold Corr of Monterey™, a newly established corrugated sheet producer and sister company of Cumberland Container, has become the first company in the United States to order Interpac’s patented cold corrugation system.
The investment marks the introduction of Interpac’s cold corrugation technology into the U.S. market. The system, already in operation in Germany and Canada, has been evaluated by Cold Corr prior to the purchase decision.
“We are excited to be the first to bring cold corrugation technology to the United States,” said Mark Jared, Director of Cold Corr of Monterey™. He added that after visiting installations overseas, the company believes the technology will provide significant advantages for independent converters.
Cold Corr™ is positioned to supply high-quality flat sheets and specialised corrugated products. The company will primarily serve Cumberland Container, while also supporting other specialty converters. The new facility is intended to provide a reliable and timely source of corrugated materials.
As the anchor customer, Cumberland Container is expected to benefit from a dedicated, nearby supply chain, supporting its ongoing growth and expansion into specialty packaging segments. The company is preparing to receive the first sheets produced by Cold Corr™ once operations begin.
The move highlights continued investment in alternative corrugation technologies aimed at improving supply flexibility and product offerings within the independent converter segment.
