Corrupac, the packaging division of Chilean circular economy company Coipsa, has acquired a corrugated cardboard manufacturing plant in Graneros, a move that will double the company's production capacity and strengthen its position in key industrial and consumer markets across Chile.
The acquisition marks a significant step in Coipsa's growth strategy as the company expands its integrated business model, which combines waste management, recycled paper production and packaging solutions.
With the addition of the Graneros facility, Corrupac will enhance its ability to serve strategic sectors including fast-moving consumer goods, protein processing, fruit exports, retail and logistics. The operation will complement the company's existing plants in Pudahuel and San Bernardo, increasing manufacturing flexibility and expanding nationwide coverage.
The company said the expanded footprint will allow it to respond more efficiently to customer requirements while strengthening its value proposition and competitiveness within Chile's corrugated packaging market.
The Graneros plant has been an established participant in the country's corrugated cardboard industry since opening in 1999. Over the past two decades, it has supplied packaging solutions to a range of industrial and agricultural customers, becoming a key operation in Chile's south-central region.
“This integration opens a new chapter for Corrupac, but it also invites us to move forward responsibly,” said Ignacio Matte, General Manager of Corrupac. “It’s not just about growing in capacity, but about doing it well, ensuring continuity of service, listening to our customers, and learning from our new team.”
According to the company, the acquisition aligns with Coipsa's long-term objective of advancing the packaging industry through circular economy principles. By integrating the Graneros facility into its operations, the company aims to create a more robust production network capable of delivering greater reliability, competitiveness and sustainability to customers across multiple industries.
The transaction further strengthens Corrupac's manufacturing platform at a time when demand for sustainable and efficient packaging solutions continues to grow across Chile's industrial and agricultural sectors.
