Crown Paper Mill has reached a major milestone at its Saudi Arabia tissue paper mill, successfully commissioning the facility and producing tissue paper for the first time on September 9.

The company said the first tissue paper was successfully reeled at the mill following months of preparation, equipment installation, troubleshooting and commissioning work involving the Crown Paper Mill team and Valmet team.

The start-up marks a new chapter for Crown Paper Mill’s operations in Saudi Arabia, with the mill beginning production at a reported capacity of 200 tonnes per day. The newly commissioned tissue paper machine is a high-speed Valmet machine operating at 2,200 metres per minute.

The successful production of the first reel represents the culmination of work carried out by the project teams as the mill progressed from installation through troubleshooting and start-up.

Crown Paper Mill described the commissioning and start-up as an important milestone in its growth journey and credited the dedication, expertise and teamwork of those involved.

The company congratulated the entire CPM Saudi Arabia team following the successful commissioning and start-up of the tissue paper machine.
