Daio Paper Reports Damage to Wastewater Treatment Equipment at Kani Mill

Daio Paper Corp. reported damage to part of the wastewater treatment equipment at its Kani Mill in Kani, Gifu Prefecture, at around 2 a.m. on September 11.

The damage occurred in part of the wastewater treatment facilities serving the mill’s paper and pulp manufacturing process. Daio Paper said there were no injuries or environmental damage, while the affected equipment sustained physical damage.

The incident has partially restricted the facility’s wastewater treatment capacity. However, production activities at the Kani Mill are continuing, according to the company.

Daio Paper said it is working to restore the damaged equipment as quickly as possible and will take measures to prevent a recurrence.

The company is currently assessing the potential impact on its financial results. It said it will promptly disclose any significant impact if one becomes apparent.

Daio Paper also said it will consult individually with customers if concerns arise regarding the supply of its products.
