Daio Paper Corporation announced that it will revise prices for several paper product categories beginning with shipments from July 1, 2026, citing rising raw material and fuel procurement costs linked to global instability and currency fluctuations.
The price revisions will apply to printing paper, information paper, adhesive paper and adhesive film products. According to the company, prices for printing paper, information paper and adhesive paper will increase by 15%, while adhesive film products will rise by 20%.
Daio Paper said its operating environment has been affected by factors including the depreciation of the yen, volatility in raw material and energy markets, and continued pressure on procurement conditions. The company added that recent instability in the Middle East has further increased procurement prices for certain raw materials and fuels essential to production, while also creating greater uncertainty in supply availability.
The company stated that it has been working to stabilize procurement by securing alternative raw materials and fuels and taking other measures to maintain supply continuity. However, it said the scale of the cost increases has exceeded what can be addressed through internal cost-reduction efforts alone.
Daio Paper said it will continue efforts to secure stable supplies and improve cost efficiencies, but determined that price revisions for the affected product categories were necessary under the current business conditions.
