Hygiene and health company Essity has been awarded the EcoVadis Platinum medal with a score of 90 points out of 100, an improvement from 88 points in 2025. The result places Essity among the top one percent of companies evaluated globally by EcoVadis over the past twelve months.
Platinum is the highest level of medal awarded by EcoVadis. The evaluation assesses the quality of companies' sustainability work by examining policies, actions and results in four areas: environment, labor conditions and human rights, ethics and sustainable sourcing.
The award reflects the quality of Essity's systematic sustainability work and the company's commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.
“Retaining the Platinum level while improving our performance reflects our systematic sustainability work. For our customers and partners, the evaluation provides an independent view of how we work with sustainability in our business. We will use the insights to continue driving improvements in our operations and value chain together with our customers, suppliers and other partners,” says Sahil Tesfu, Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer at Essity.
EcoVadis has assessed more than 175,000 companies in over 180 countries. The assessments are evidence-based, based on international sustainability standards and reviewed by sustainability experts. Essity shares the results of the assessment with customers and partners to promote transparency and dialogue around sustainability priorities.
