European ESG rating agency EthiFinance has renewed Ence’s overall “Excellent” rating in its Solicited Sustainability Rating for the second consecutive year. The company also improved its score from 8.4/10 last year to 8.8/10 in the latest assessment.

EthiFinance annually evaluates the sustainability performance of more than 2,400 European companies, assessing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria through a double materiality approach and sector-specific methodologies.

The agency’s assessment reviews Ence’s performance across four main pillars: governance, environment, social – employees, and social – external stakeholders.

Community Relations

In the governance area, EthiFinance highlights the strength of Ence’s corporate governance frameworks, as well as its business conduct and cybersecurity policies, which are supported by robust control and oversight systems. The company maintained the positive rating achieved in this area the previous year.

Within the social pillar related to employees, Ence improved its score and achieved an Outstanding rating (9/10). The agency particularly noted the company’s working conditions, high level of collective bargaining coverage, and strong health and safety culture across the organization.

From an environmental perspective, EthiFinance recognized Ence’s decarbonization efforts, supported by environmental management system certifications and strong performance in circularity initiatives.

The social pillar relating to external stakeholders showed the greatest improvement compared with the previous year. The agency specifically acknowledged the company’s continued implementation of solid and stable due diligence policies and processes throughout its value chain, as well as responsible practices that strengthen relationships with the communities where it operates.

Within the governance category, EthiFinance once again highlighted the performance of Ence’s Compliance and Cybersecurity functions, which achieved a 10/10 score, matching the result obtained in the previous year.
