FM Cartiere Plans Q2 2026 Restart at Momo Mill with New Product

Italian recycled board producer FM Cartiere plans to restart production at its Momo Mill in Q2 2026, following a halt since October 2025 due to weak market conditions.​

The company is restructuring its portfolio to exit the overcapacity GD board market and will introduce a new, unspecified product.

Production at the Momo mill stopped in early October 2025 amid challenging market demands for recycled board. FM Cartiere stated it remains in a strong financial and asset position, capable of meeting all obligations.

The company previously planned a restart in Q1 2026 after completing an industrial reconversion and business relaunch project to reshape operations and adapt to evolving market needs.

This strategic shift addresses industry pressures for key recycled board producers seeking sustainable growth through new production capacities or product lines.
