Amparo, Brazil – Fosber has confirmed the sale of a complete S/Line 420 corrugator to Fernandez Papel S/A, marking a further step in the long-standing partnership between the two companies.

The investment reflects Fernandez Papel’s ongoing transition under its younger generation of leadership, as the family-owned company—founded in 1971—continues to modernise its operations. The move is aimed at reinforcing its position as a producer of 100% recycled paper and corrugated packaging solutions in the Latin American market.

The new installation will consist of a high-speed, 2.8-metre-wide S/Line 420 corrugator configured for double-wall production. It will include a triple dry-end system designed to improve efficiency and flexibility, enabling faster order changes and sustained output across a varied product mix.

The line will also incorporate Fosber’s Industry 4.0 technologies, including advanced data acquisition and diagnostic systems. These features are intended to support real-time performance monitoring, improved energy efficiency, and consistent board quality through automated process control.

Fernandez Papel operates as an integrated producer at its Amparo facility, where three paper machines with deckles of 3100 mm, 2600 mm, and 2600 mm produce corrugated base paper from recycled fibres. The new corrugator will complement existing assets, including a Medesa line upgraded with Fosber equipment such as a slitter scorer and rotary shear.

“We are honoured that the Fernandez family has once again chosen Fosber as their strategic partner,” said Marco Bertola, CEO of Fosber Group. “The S/Line 420 is the perfect match for their high standards of sustainability and operational excellence.”

Installation of the new system is expected later this year, supporting increased production capacity and enhanced board quality.
