Fripa Begins Construction of New PM 8 Tissue Machine in Miltenberg to Boost Production Capacity
German hygiene paper manufacturer Fripa Papierfabrik Albert Friedrich KG has commenced construction of its new tissue paper machine, PM 8, at the Miltenberg site. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on October 29, 2025. To accommodate the new production, existing buildings will be demolished to make way for a new paper machine hall with approximately 6,000 square meters of floor space, along with a mother-roll warehouse and an automated reel handling transport bridge. The PM 8 machine, ordered from Andritz in July 2025, will enable an annual production capacity of 37,000 tons and operate at speeds up to 2,100 meters per minute. The investment, described to be in the mid double-digit million euro range, aims to strengthen Fripa's production capabilities and secure long-term competitiveness in the tissue market.
