Construction of the second phase of the Gansu Yusen household paper project is advancing rapidly and is scheduled for completion and commissioning by the end of 2026, according to local officials.
The project, led by Gansu Yusen New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and invested in by Baoding Yusen Sanitary Products Co., Ltd., is located in the Chongxin County Industrial Concentration Zone in Gansu Province. It is a provincial-level investment initiative with a planned total capacity of 360,000 tons per year of household paper.
With a total estimated investment of CNY4.5 billion, the project is being developed in three phases. The first and second phases account for approximately CNY2 billion and include the construction of 12 paper production lines. The third phase, with an estimated investment of CNY2.5 billion, will add three packaging paper lines and four nonwoven fabric production lines.
Phase one of the project was commissioned in May 2025. Construction of the second phase began in early March 2026 and includes a combined wet-process paper mill, a finished product warehouse and supporting infrastructure.
According to the company, around 70% of the foundation work for the No. 2 papermaking workshop has been completed. Foundations for paper machines No. 5 and No. 6 are currently under construction, while excavation for machines No. 7 and No. 8 is expected to begin shortly. Foundation construction and backfilling for the No. 2 finished goods warehouse have been completed, with steel structure installation set to start soon.
The project is expected to support local industrial development and contribute to the regional economy upon completion.
