Geris, Albania’s leading tissue paper converting company, has chosen Giotto Technologies to boost the production performance of its converting line through the introduction of a new core maker and a stateof-the-art log saw machine.
Geris operates a facility of approximately 12,000 m² equipped with the latest technology for pure cellulose tissue paper converting and for logistics management. Founded in 2008 as a family-owned business, Geris has grown to become one of Albania’s leading manufacturers of tissue paper products for hygienic use. A focus on quality and innovation has made Geris the go-to partner for the production and distribution of the industry’s leading brands in Albania.
This agreement represents another step forward in Giotto Technologies’ international expansion and confirms the market’s growing confidence in the technological solutions developed by the company.
The supply includes a core maker machine designed to reach high-quality standards in the production of cardboard cores and a high-performance log saw machine, engineered to ensure cutting precision, operational reliability and maximum production efficiency.
“This new partnership with Geris demonstrates the value of our technologies and our ability to meet the needs of tissue manufacturers in rapidly growing markets,” said Giovanni Bertoli Barsotti, CEO of Giotto Technologies. “We are proud to support Geris in its industrial development through innovative and high performance solutions.”
The core maker machine operates at a maximum speed of 160 m/min and is capable of producing up to 55 cores per minute in 1, 2, or 3-strip configurations, with a width ranging from 60 to 100 mm. Blade feed is driven by a linear motor with motorized blade, and core length is controlled via the HMI panel.
The 4-lanes log saw represents the highest technological standard on the market: log diameters from 90 to 240 mm with a maximum operating speed of 240 cuts/min and universal clamps. Independent motorization for each lane, shuttle trim removal driven by a linear motor, blade sharpening adjustment and blade lubrication on the rotating arm programmable via the control panel.
This investment will enable Geris to increase productivity and optimize its converting processes, further strengthening its competitiveness in the Albanian and regional markets.
“We are particularly pleased to have identified Giotto Technologies as the ideal technology partner to support our company’s growth. The decision to invest in a new core maker machine and a log saw stems from our desire to improve certain fundamental stages of the converting process. The solutions proposed by Giotto Technologies stood out for their innovative features, reliability and ability to improve 2/2 the performance of our existing line, enabling us to achieve even higher quality standards and greater operational continuity,” said Sokol Duraj, CEO of Geris. “We are confident that our collaboration with Giotto Technologies will effectively support us in the next phases of our growth journey.”
With this order, Giotto Technologies consolidates its presence in Southeast Europe, reaffirming its corporate strategy focused on innovation, energy efficiency and the creation of long-term partnerships with its customers.
