Wuhan, China – Golden Phoenix Paper has announced a temporary shutdown plan affecting four paper machines across its production bases in Wuhan and Xiaogan, citing increased cost pressures.

According to a customer notice issued by the company, two paper machines at each site will be taken offline for periods ranging from five to 15 days between April 16 and May 30. The affected equipment includes PM11 and PM10 at the Xiaogan facility, and PM2 and PM5 at the Wuhan site.

Based on the company’s designed production capacity, the planned downtime is expected to reduce corrugated paper output by approximately 23,000 tonnes over the shutdown period.

Golden Phoenix Paper stated that the decision follows a significant rise in operating costs, which has placed considerable pressure on its business operations. The company said the temporary shutdowns are intended to help manage these challenges while maintaining service levels.

The notice advised customers to plan procurement schedules in advance to minimize potential disruptions.
