Grenadier Packaging acquired Netherlands-based folding cartons specialist MM Packaging Leeuwarden from Mayr-Melnhof Karton AG, marking its first European acquisition beyond the UK. The transaction closed on December 31, 2025, extending Grenadier's acquisition strategy owned by Grenadier Holdings (formerly Paragon Group).

The deal strengthens Grenadier's folding cartons presence, following last year's purchase of Cumbria-based Kentmere Packaging. This brings Grenadier's total acquisitions to six, scaling capability through targeted M&A while supporting European customers.

Production continues normally at the Leeuwarden site with no immediate changes to operations, management, or suppliers. All 52 employees transfer with the business. Joint Managing Director Aidan Cahill emphasized preserving existing strengths for long-term growth and market resilience.

Ross Diamond, fellow Joint Managing Director, prioritized stability during transition, ensuring "business as usual" for customers, employees, and suppliers under long-term ownership. Grenadier will engage stakeholders for smooth integration while maintaining Dutch and European customer relationships.

Grenadier Holdings employs over 9,000 across 30 countries with €1.7 billion annual sales (£1.47 billion).
