Groupe Guillin Acquires Belgian Packaging Firms Gruyaert Verpakking and Verpakkingen V de V

French packaging company Groupe Guillin has acquired the Belgian packaging manufacturer Gruyaert Verpakking and the distribution company Verpakkingen V de V through its subsidiary Alterecopack. The acquisition aims to bolster the group's capabilities in customized paper and board packaging. The two companies collectively employ about 40 people and recorded combined sales of approximately €19 million in 2024.

Gruyaert Verpakking operates a plant in Oostkamp, focusing on paper and board packaging for the food industry. Its products include baker's bags, confectionery boxes, patisserie trays and boxes, and takeaway items such as boxes and paper cups. The portfolio also encompasses plastic packaging like takeaway trays and films. Belgian business information provider Companyweb reports that Gruyaert employs around 33 full-time equivalents.

Verpakkingen V de V, located in Wijnegem near Antwerp, serves as a distributor for Gruyaert's products and packaging from other manufacturers across the Belgian market. Its offerings cover packaging for bakeries, patisseries, and fresh produce. Companyweb indicates that the company maintains about 9 full-time equivalents.

Groupe Guillin supplies paper, board, and plastic packaging—including food trays and boxes—to supermarkets and the catering sector throughout Europe. The group manages 25 subsidiaries across the continent, encompassing production and distribution facilities. In 2024, it achieved sales of roughly €870 million alongside a net profit of €60 million.
