Hanchuan is advancing plans to establish a Packaging Industry Association as the city’s packaging sector continues to expand, with more than 100 packaging companies generating an output value of 11.32 billion yuan in 2025.

The preparatory meeting for the Hanchuan Packaging Industry Association was held on March 5, bringing together representatives from government departments, township authorities, and leading packaging enterprises. The meeting focused on discussing the establishment of the association and planning the long-term development of the city’s packaging industry.

A total of 46 participants attended the meeting, including officials from the Municipal Party Committee’s Social Work Department, the Civil Affairs Bureau, the Federation of Industry and Commerce, representatives from nine key townships, and 30 packaging enterprises nominated as council members.

Hanchuan has developed a comprehensive packaging industry chain, with over 100 enterprises, including 52 large-scale companies operating across the sector. Building on this foundation, the Hanchuan Municipal Party Committee and Government have set a target of developing a 30-billion-yuan packaging and printing industry cluster, positioning it as a key component of the city’s “3+X” industrial system in 2026.

During the meeting, representatives from packaging companies shared suggestions on the association’s formation and operational priorities. Officials from the Municipal Party Committee’s Social Work Department and the Civil Affairs Bureau provided guidance on regulatory procedures, governance structures, and party-building requirements necessary for the association’s establishment.

Participants also held discussions on the draft charter of the Packaging Industry Association, the proposed timing and location of the inaugural meeting, and the division of responsibilities for preparatory work. Representatives from township United Front Work Committees expressed their commitment to assisting with industry coordination and information collection from packaging enterprises within their jurisdictions.

The meeting emphasized the importance of standardized governance, service-oriented operations, and innovation-driven development for the association. Government departments, initiating enterprises, and local authorities were encouraged to collaborate closely to finalize the association’s charter, recruit qualified members, and prepare for the official launch.

Once established, the Hanchuan Packaging Industry Association is expected to serve as a bridge between government and enterprises, facilitating industry collaboration, integrating resources, and supporting the modernization and collective growth of the local packaging sector.

The preparatory meeting marks a key milestone in the formation of the association, which aims to strengthen industry coordination and help drive high-quality development of Hanchuan’s packaging industry in the coming years.
