Hansol Paper reported consolidated operating profit of ₩50.8 billion (approximately $35.3 million) in the second quarter of 2026, up 163% from a year earlier, according to an electronic disclosure filed with South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service on the 30th.

Quarterly revenue rose 4.9% year-over-year to ₩592.7 billion (approximately $412.1 million), while net profit increased 253% to ₩30 billion (approximately $20.9 million).

For the first six months of 2026, cumulative operating profit reached ₩62 billion (approximately $43.1 million), a 56.4% increase from the same period a year earlier. First-half revenue edged up 1% to ₩1.15 trillion (approximately $801.4 million).

The company attributed the quarterly improvement to increased sales of white duplex board used in cosmetics and food packaging, higher thermal paper prices and the effect of tariff refunds following the invalidation of U.S. reciprocal tariffs.

Hansol Paper said demand for white duplex board increased during the quarter as the global popularity of K-Culture supported sales of cosmetics and food products. The company also benefited from higher thermal paper selling prices after supply disruptions involving Chinese thermal dye increased raw material costs.

“In the second quarter of 2026, sales of white duplex board for cosmetics and food packaging increased, buoyed by the popularity of K-Culture,” a Hansol Paper representative said.

The company also received refunds on some duties it had paid following the nullification of previously imposed U.S. reciprocal tariff measures, contributing positively to its bottom line.

“Revenue and operating profit both increased as thermal paper prices rose due to Chinese thermal dye supply disruptions, compounded by the tariff refund effect from the invalidation of U.S. reciprocal tariffs,” the representative said.

Hansol Paper manufactures a range of paper products, including printing paper, industrial paper, white duplex board and thermal paper.
