Heiber + Schröder, based in Erkrath, Germany, introduced the CE Compact, a single-lane carton erector designed for precision and reliability on a compact footprint. The machine addresses demand for cost-effective, easy-to-operate equipment producing trays in small lot sizes.

Derived from the established CE range of cartonboard and microflute tray erectors, the CE Compact innovates by folding trays without glue in addition to standard gluing processes. Eliminating the glue station reduces initial costs, ongoing operating expenses, and maintenance needs like cleaning, while boosting machine uptime.

The compact design suits packer fillers, larger fruit and produce farms, and carton converters lacking space for bigger CE models. Priced under €100,000, it appeals broadly to the market.

Jan Michaelis, CEO of Heiber + Schröder, explained: “The new CE Compact is the result of feedback and discussions with many customers who are looking for a machine that can erect basic trays without glue to be able to offer even more sustainable and fully compostable/recyclable packaging. The CE Compact delivers just that – trays that are folded and secured through intricate folding process, without the need for glue. And of course, it is 100% Made in Germany.”.

The CE Compact debuts at Fruit Logistica in Berlin from February 4 to 6, 2026, at Hall 6.1, Stand B-32.
