Hinojosa has presented the completed modernization project at its Hinojosa Paper Alquería plant, highlighting an investment of more than €36 million aimed at increasing production capacity and improving the environmental performance of the facility.

The project was presented during an event attended by the President of the Generalitat Valenciana, Juanfran Pérez Llorca.

According to the company, the modernization incorporates a waste-to-energy solution designed to enhance the sustainability of the paper production process.

As a result of the investment, the Alquería plant has increased its production capacity by approximately 20%, reaching an annual output of 128,000 tonnes of recycled paper.

Hinojosa also stated that the upgraded facility is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 28% while maintaining existing water consumption levels.

The company said the project supports its broader decarbonization strategy while promoting waste recovery, employment, and economic development in the surrounding region.

The modernization is intended to strengthen the plant's operational efficiency and expand its capacity for recycled paper production while improving the environmental performance of its manufacturing operations.
