Hongxiang Paper Industry Announces 300,000-Ton Recycled Packaging Paper Upgrade Project

The Xinxiang Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment has issued a public notice regarding the acceptance of a technical upgrading project for the annual production of 300,000 tons of low-basis-weight recycled packaging paper by Xinxiang County Hongxiang Paper Industry Co., Ltd.

According to the notice released on May 19, the project relates to the company’s operations in the Guguzhai Town Industrial Cluster Area of Xinxiang County, Xinxiang City. Xinxiang Hongxiang Paper Industry Co., Ltd. is engaged primarily in the production and sales of corrugated paper as well as wastewater treatment activities.

The company’s existing operations include an 80,000-ton-per-year high-strength Grade A corrugated base paper project, a 50,000-ton-per-year low-grammage corrugated paper project, a 2×6 MW cogeneration plant, a wastewater treatment project with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters per day, a 6,000-ton-per-year recycled plastic products project, and a 200,000-ton-per-year T-paper project.

The notice also stated that on April 15, 2022, Xinxiang Hongxiang Paper Industry Co., Ltd. leased its entire cogeneration plant to Xinxiang Xiangxin Environmental Protection Technology Co., Ltd. The environmental protection company later applied for its first wastewater discharge permit for the 2×6 MW cogeneration project on July 6, 2022.
