Huhtamaki India reported a net profit of Rs 25.6 crore for the first quarter of calendar year 2026, down 2.1% from the corresponding period a year earlier, while revenue edged up 0.52% year-on-year to Rs 613.1 crore.
Total expenditure during the quarter rose 2.26% year-on-year to Rs 600.18 crore. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased 4% to Rs 38.6 crore compared with the same quarter last year. Profit before tax stood at Rs 35.04 crore, slightly higher than Rs 34.72 crore in Q1 CY25. Tax expenses for the quarter increased 10.2% year-on-year to Rs 9.44 crore.
Managing Director Kamal Taneja said the company achieved marginally higher sales despite lower volumes, supported by pricing and product mix improvements as part of its strategy of selective market participation. He added that EBIT growth was driven by favorable sales mix, operational efficiencies, and higher net interest income, partly offset by one-off non-recurring charges.
The company said it continues to focus on profitable growth, capital discipline, and operational accountability in line with the broader strategy of parent company Huhtamaki Oyj, a global provider of sustainable packaging solutions.
Shares of Huhtamaki India were trading 0.17% higher at Rs 173.95 on the BSE following the announcement.
