Ilim Group marked its 30th anniversary in the Chinese market with a partner event held in Beijing, highlighting its long-term presence and ongoing expansion in the region.

The company reported that shipments to China reached approximately 2.3 million tonnes in 2025, accounting for 60% of its total production. Ilim currently works with more than 500 customer plants across 20 regions in China and ranks among the top seven global producers of key pulp and paper products.

Speaking at the event, CEO Alexey Lomko thanked partners for decades of cooperation and said the company aims to continue growing alongside its key market.

In response to increased competition during 2024–2025, Ilim adjusted its operational structure. The company opened a new office in Shanghai to strengthen engagement with cardboard customers in eastern and southeastern China, while its Beijing office shifted focus toward pulp sales. It also launched the SKA (Skills, Knowledge, Attitudes) project to standardize sales processes and enhance employee capabilities across its Beijing, Shanghai, and St. Petersburg locations.

To improve logistics and service, Ilim established four intermediate warehouses in eastern and southeastern China in 2025. The facilities enable faster delivery times and are equipped to reformat paper rolls to customer specifications. The company has also introduced door-to-door delivery services and expanded its technical support capabilities.

In product development, Ilim introduced the BelBear pulp brand tailored to specific customer requirements, while continuing to supply both raw materials and packaging solutions.

The anniversary event brought together representatives from Chinese and Russian businesses, government officials, industry associations, and Ilim’s partners and customers.
