Irving Pulp & Paper has awarded Babcock & Wilcox Canada a contract of more than US$10 million to install key boiler components as part of a US$20 million refurbishment of a Stirling power boiler at its Saint John, New Brunswick mill. The project follows a separate US$10 million agreement earlier in 2025 under which B&W Canada supplied equipment including a superheater, lower furnace water walls, an overfire air system, an economizer and a tubular air heater. Installation will occur during the mill’s planned outage in spring 2026, enabling the upgraded boiler to reach higher operating temperatures required to drive a future steam turbine and improve overall energy efficiency. B&W Canada highlights the contract as a continuation of its long-term relationship with Irving Pulp & Paper and as a demonstration of its decades of experience providing advanced steam generation and emissions control technologies to pulp and paper mills worldwide.
