Xiamen C&D Pulp & Paper Group has commenced operations of a joint venture biomass energy project in Hengzhou, Guangxi, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes of biomass pellet fuel.

The project, operated by Guangxi Maofa Import & Export Trading Co., Ltd., was officially inaugurated on April 16, 2026, in Shitang Town. The company is jointly invested by Xiamen C&D Pulp & Paper Group and Singapore Mao Hong International Group.

The facility is designed to process and export biomass pellet fuel, supporting the development of a green energy supply chain. The initiative aligns with C&D Pulp & Paper’s strategy to expand its presence in renewable energy and contribute to China’s “dual-carbon” goals.

Representatives from local authorities, including the Nanning Investment Promotion Bureau and the Shitang Town government, attended the commissioning ceremony, alongside industry partners such as Marubeni Corporation, Lee & Man Paper, and Nanning Sun Paper.

Chen Dongxu, Vice General Manager of Jianfa Group and General Manager of C&D Pulp & Paper Group, said the project reflects long-standing cooperation with Mao Hong International Group and represents a strategic move toward energy transition and green development. He added that the company will leverage its supply chain, digital management, and industry integration capabilities to support the joint venture.

Zhu Yongkai, Chairman of Mao Hong International Group, described the project as a milestone in the company’s expansion into the green energy sector, with plans to enhance capacity, improve product quality, and expand into international markets.

Established in July 2025, Guangxi Maofa operates on an 8,000-square-metre site equipped with dedicated production lines. Located within the Pinglu Canal Economic Belt, the project benefits from logistical advantages that support export efficiency.

The facility is expected to contribute to regional industrial development, promote resource recycling, and support the growth of the local green energy sector.
