Jintong Paper (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Sinar Mas Group (APP), has commenced operations of its PM6 specialty paper production line ahead of schedule, according to information released by Huazhang Technology.

The PM6 project was successfully launched on April 15, 2026. Huazhang Technology, in collaboration with Hunan CRRC Shangqu Electric Co., Ltd., supplied a complete permanent magnet direct drive system for the Voith Paper machine used in the project.

The new line is described as China’s first low-grammage, high-speed MG cylinder specialty paper production line. Its commissioning reflects joint efforts between Jintong Paper, Voith Paper, CRRC Shangqu, and Huazhang Technology, and supports Jintong’s expansion in the high-end specialty paper segment.

PM6 has a machine width of 4,970 mm and a designed maximum speed of 1,200 m/min. It is capable of producing single-sided glazed paper and thermal base paper with basis weights ranging from 20 to 60 g/m². The line has a planned annual production capacity of 120,000 tonnes.

The production system incorporates Voith’s BlueLine pulp preparation technology and XcelLine paper machine platform, covering the full process from stock preparation and approach flow to the paper machine and rewinder.

The startup adds new capacity to Jintong Paper’s specialty product portfolio and represents a step in the company’s ongoing diversification and second-phase development strategy.
