The KAMA cardboard and paper mill, part of the Sveza forestry group, has increased its reserve inventory of caustic soda, a key raw material used in cardboard and paper production.
The company said it deployed 10 specialized tank containers as part of a raw material rotation system designed to improve supply chain flexibility and support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
The project was implemented using the mill’s existing logistics infrastructure and its own fleet of tank containers.
According to the company, the new system increases operational caustic soda reserves from four days to 10 days. The expanded reserve is intended to provide additional flexibility in raw material management and support stable production and customer deliveries.
Under the system, tank containers are filled at supplier facilities before being routed through a specialized terminal in Perm Krai, where the caustic soda is accumulated and stored prior to use in production.
“We are consistently developing our system for supplying our production with key chemical components,” said Vyacheslav Varlamov, Commercial Director of KAMA. “Expanding our caustic soda reserve stock and organizing tank container rotation allow us to increase logistics flexibility and ensure additional stability in our production chain.”
The company said the initiative is aimed at improving predictability in product shipments and reinforcing operational reliability across its cardboard and paper manufacturing business.
