The KAMA cardboard and paper mill, part of the Sveza forestry group, is taking the reliability and efficiency of its paper production to a new level. The modernization of the compressed air system at the compressor station has been completed. This investment project, worth over 60 million rubles, is aimed at meeting the company's growing needs for this key technological resource.
Compressed air is a vital component of papermaking. It is used in pneumatic actuators for shutoff and control valves, control instrumentation, and the operation of paper machine pressure rollers, among other things.
The KAMY station is equipped with two new compressors. For control flexibility and redundancy, a pair of existing units have been integrated into the system. The existing dehumidifier also serves as a backup. To standardize the system and improve quality, all produced volumes have been converted to a single dehumidified air standard.
One of the significant advantages of the new complex is the ability to redundantly operate the compressor shop for the bleached chemithermomechanical pulp (BCTMP-1). This improves the overall energy security of the plant. Additionally, as part of the project, a new compressed air pipeline was installed on the overpass connecting the paper mill and the FBB line . This strategic solution allows for the rapid redistribution of resources between shops in emergency situations, ensuring uninterrupted process operations.
"The compressor station modernization project, with an investment volume of over 60 million rubles, addresses several important issues. First, it meets the production facility's growing compressed air needs and allows for flexible resource management. Second, it significantly increases the resilience of the plant's entire energy system. Our investments in infrastructure projects allow us to look to the future with confidence and strengthen our market leadership ," noted Roman Seravin , Executive Director of the KAMA plant.
