KAMA Sets a Record for the Production of Import-Substituting Products

The KAMA cardboard and paper mill, part of the Sveza industrial holding, continues to increase production of domestically produced FBB (folding boxboard) coated cardboard. In July 2026, the plant set a new record, producing over 22,100 tons. This increase in output was driven by more efficient operation following a major shutdown.

The new result exceeded the previous maximum of 21,500 tons, which was recorded in December 2025. Meanwhile, demand for domestic FBB continues to grow. KAMA's monthly order book already exceeds the plant's current production capacity.

Three key factors contributed to this high result: a well-executed major production shutdown in June, teamwork, and efficient order planning. For example, the number of product transitions on the cardboard machine (KDM No. 9) was minimized. This reduced setup time and increased equipment efficiency.

Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) reached a two-year high of 93.23%. The previous high of 91.7% was set in July 2024.

The bleached chemi-thermomechanical pulp (BCTMP) plant No. 2 made a significant contribution to production performance, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of semi-finished products. During a scheduled shutdown, the electric motor of the modular screw conveyor unit was replaced. The plant's immediate plans include further modernization and reaching a daily pulp output of 500 tons.

Growing production is also supported by sales. In July, KAMA's cardboard sales increased by 6% compared to the same month last year. In the first seven months of this year, the mill produced approximately 137,000 tons of coated cardboard, which is in line with the same period last year.

"The increase in production to 22,100 tons of cardboard in July is a logical result of systematic work to modernize and ramp up the FBB line. Our monthly order book consistently exceeds our current capacity, so we are systematically increasing volumes, ensuring trouble-free operation and consistent quality at all stages. In August, we plan to launch new pumps in the BHTMM Shop No. 2, upgrade the ventilation system of KDM No. 9 in September, and reach a daily feed rate of 500 tons in October. These steps will allow the company to confidently establish itself at new operational heights," noted Evgeny Zakhvataev , Director of Production at KAMA Paper and Board Plant.
