Kappa Rus has introduced a tear-off tape solution designed to simplify the opening of group and transport packaging while preserving box strength throughout distribution and storage.

The technology is intended for retail-ready packaging applications and enables cartons to be opened with a single pull, eliminating the need for knives or other cutting tools. The tear-off tape is applied to the inside of the packaging and is particularly suited to wrap-around box designs.

According to the company, the tape is identified by printed markings and starter notches, allowing retail staff to remove the top section of the box quickly. The remaining lower section serves as a display tray, enabling products to be placed directly on store shelves with minimal handling.

Kappa Rus said the solution maintains the structural integrity of the packaging until it is opened. Unlike conventional perforations, the tear-off tape does not require cuts in the carton walls, helping preserve box strength during transportation and storage.

The technology is compatible with a range of packaging formats, including four-flap cartons, dovetail-bottom boxes, wrap-around packaging and auto-bottom boxes. The company said the system is intended to improve merchandising efficiency, streamline shelf replenishment and enhance convenience for retail personnel while maintaining the reliability of transport packaging.

The introduction of the tear-off tape expands Kappa Rus' portfolio of packaging solutions aimed at improving handling efficiency and point-of-sale presentation without altering the protective performance of the packaging.
