Kappa Rus Okulovka is set to begin a new phase of modernization after signing a letter of intent on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), outlining plans for a production upgrade at its facility in the Novgorod Region.

The agreement was signed by First Deputy Governor of the Novgorod Region Evgeny Bogdanov and Kappa Rus Okulovka CEO Stanislav Chaplya. The initiative is expected to guide the next stage of development for the company’s manufacturing operations.

Under the project, Kappa Rus Okulovka plans to invest approximately 120 million rubles in the purchase and commissioning of a new automated production line for molded paper pulp products. The modernization program is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.

According to the company, the new production line will enable a significant restructuring of manufacturing processes and expand the plant’s product portfolio. The upgrade is expected to provide greater flexibility in packaging design, including new capabilities for coloring, printing, and labeling to meet customer requirements.

The company also expects the project to improve operational efficiency, with overall productivity projected to increase by approximately 25%.

Commenting on the agreement, Stanislav Chaplya said the project marks the beginning of a new phase in the company’s development. He stated that the investment will strengthen Kappa Rus Okulovka’s position in the environmentally friendly packaging market through an expanded product offering and increased production capacity.

Chaplya added that the project is also expected to contribute to the industrial development of the Okulovsky District and the wider Novgorod Region.

The planned modernization reflects continued investment in paper-based packaging production as demand grows for sustainable packaging solutions.
