Kemira Acquires Sidra Wasserchemie for €75 Million

Kemira Oyj announced February 11, 2026, the acquisition of SIDRA Wasserchemie, a family-owned German coagulant producer, strengthening its Water Solutions business in Europe.​

The deal awaits German Federal Cartel Office clearance and closes in H1 2026.​

Purchase price totals approximately EUR 75 million, subject to adjustments.​

SIDRA operates two German facilities serving Germany, Belgium, and Netherlands; 2024 revenue hit EUR 40 million with EUR 10 million EBITDA.​

SIDRA's 60+ employees will join Kemira post-close.​

Tuija Pohjolainen-Hiltunen, Kemira EVP Water Solutions, stated: “The acquisition of SIDRA Wasserchemie is highly synergistic and yet another important step on our path towards doubling Kemira’s water-related revenue.”​

She added it expands core coagulant business amid growing Western/Central Europe demand.​

Kemira leads sustainable chemicals for water-intensive sectors like pulp/paper, with 2024 revenue of EUR 2.9 billion and 4,700 employees.
