Kemira has concluded the change negotiations initiated on 24 April 2026. The negotiations covered all Kemira employees in Finland except those in the manufacturing organization. As a result of the negotiations, Kemira will reduce in total 21 positions in Finland, including voluntary arrangements. Globally, an estimated 123 positions will be reduced across Kemira’s operating countries. The original estimate was maximum of 150 positions globally and maximum of 30 in Finland. The aim of the reductions is to improve the company’s profitability and achieve annual savings of approximately EUR 15 million. Kemira has globally around 4,900 employees, of whom about 800 in Finland.

Most of the planned changes have now been resolved in the processes that have been completed. Some individual processes are still ongoing in different countries, and they are expected to be finalized by mid‑June. The personnel impact has been reduced from the original plan through measures such as retirement arrangements, changes in job roles, and voluntary arrangements.

“We thank our employees for the constructive dialogue during the negotiations. The measures being implemented are necessary to strengthen our competitiveness and ensure the conditions for profitable growth in the coming years,” says Antti Salminen, President & CEO, Kemira Oyj.

In addition to the now concluded measures, Kemira continues to implement other ongoing efficiency and cost‑saving actions that do not have employee impacts.
