Khanna Paper Integrates Voith DuoFormerD to Enhance Paper Formation and Production Efficiency

Khanna Paper Mills Ltd. has integrated the DuoFormerD technology from Voith Paper as part of its ongoing modernization and manufacturing improvement initiatives.

According to the company, the installation is aimed at improving paper formation, printability, machine runnability, and overall operational efficiency across its paper production operations. The move forms part of Khanna Paper’s broader strategy to strengthen future-ready manufacturing capabilities and increase productivity.

Khanna Paper stated that the DuoFormerD integration is expected to support higher productivity and machine performance while advancing PM4 toward a production speed target of 10,500 metric tons per month.

The company outlined targeted improvements in formation index performance across multiple paper grades. For Optima (OMP), the formation index is projected to improve from 3.8 to 3.0, representing a 21% improvement. Grafika (GSP) is targeted to improve from 3.6 to 2.8, while Elegance (ESP) is expected to improve from 3.2 to 2.5. Copier grade paper is also projected to improve from 3.6 to 2.8. The company indicated these changes correspond to improvements ranging between 21% and 22%.

Khanna Paper said the project reflects its commitment to innovation, operational excellence, and enhanced paper quality standards in response to evolving market and production requirements.
