Lima, Peru – 2026 – Kimberly-Clark’s operations in Peru reported a 54% reduction in water consumption at its Puente Piedra plant by the end of 2025, with the performance sustained into early 2026 as part of ongoing efforts to optimize water management.
The company said the reduction translates into monthly savings of approximately 37,000 cubic meters of water, equivalent to the consumption of around 9,250 people. The site also maintains a 90% reuse rate of treated wastewater, supported by enhancements to its biological treatment plant.
The improvements come amid increasing pressure on water resources in Peru. According to National Center for Strategic Planning, the country faces some of the highest levels of water stress in the region, posing challenges for industrial operations and resource management.
Kimberly-Clark attributed the gains to several operational measures, including the reuse of water within industrial processes, expanded filtration system capacity, and more flexible management of internal water flows. These actions have contributed to improved efficiency in resource utilization at the facility.
The company noted that water efficiency is becoming a central component of operational sustainability, particularly in regions facing resource constraints.
Looking ahead, Kimberly-Clark Peru has set a target of reaching water consumption levels of 7.5 cubic meters per ton of production in 2026, while continuing to improve energy performance in line with its global sustainability objectives.
